Pulte Homes is a GREAT place to work because (1) our top-down leadership and their vision; (2) the culture fostered by our leaders; and, (3) the empowerment from our leadership to every individual in our company to do our best. Probably the best way for me to illustrate what this company is about is by way of a personal story. Soon after signing on with Pulte Homes and before I even started my first day, I became extremely sick and was hospitalized (and wasn’t able to start work). The division’s main office found out about my status and reacted by sending me flowers at the hospital (way before my own relatives)!! Then, when I had been discharged and assigned to bed rest, I was surprised with meals delivered to my home for me and my family for the days leading up to me revised start date! All of this was before I started work! By the way, did I mention that Pulte builds homes too! Pulte hires wonderful people, trains and takes care of them better than any other company I’ve ever been affiliated – I find that people who work for Pulte go the extra mile in this company daily because they love to work here. I do!

Let me tell why Pulte Homes is the best place to work, number one…they genuinely care about their people. My dad passed away yesterday. He had become progressively ill and I needed some time with my family. I kept working through his illness, but as it progressed, I let our division President know about my situation. He took the time to rally around me and let me know that I should take the time I needed for myself and for my family. His warm and caring attitude alleviated a tough, tough time for us. All this came from the very top…it’s no wonder that it trickles down and spreads goodwill throughout the division. Before I knew it, I was getting all kinds of support from within the company. Believe it or not, it made coming to work easier and fun. Number two…Pulte Homes has a way of creating an atmosphere where people want to come to work. When people “want” to come to work…they are having fun and will exceed their own expectations, as well as those of the company’s. Pulte Homes has a way of creating a magical type of culture that is rare in today’s large corporations. The people believe in what they are doing. When that happens, watch out, there is no goal that is not obtainable. Thirdly, when I think of the name Pulte, I think of Quality and “doing the right thing”. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve been in meetings where we’ve explored alternate options and it always came down to the question of “what is the right thing to do?” The answer is almost always solved right on the spot. It comes back to core values, our clear mission and goals. It’s not by accident that these are so clearly aligned, which makes our jobs and tasks fun to do. The people are empowered to make decisions and truly believe that they are valued. It makes all the difference in the world! We, the people of Pulte Homes are truly cared about, have a fun, exciting fast-paced work atmosphere and are empowered to do our jobs with pride! This is what makes Pulte Homes the best place to work in America!!
