In my short time with Pulte Homes, I have found that I do not spend my days with coworkers, but rather with friends. The atmosphere is an exciting, always positive one in which everybody continually strives to make Pulte Homes not just the best homebuilder in the world, but simply the best company in the world. In addition, everybody from my mentor and Supervisor, to the Maryland Division President strive to create an atmosphere conducive to learning, trust, productivity, and fun. Being a part of such a great company in a thriving industry creates a sense of pride across the board that can be felt when walking through our office or any of our job sites. Pulte Homes is the quintessential Great place to Work, as defined by the “Great Place to Work Institute” in which such a place is one where an employee can “trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do, and enjoy the people they work with”. Pulte Homes is a company that doesn’t sit still. When I think of Pulte, I think of action - Top Gun trainees singing at the top of their lungs, community teams building relationships with customers, employees raising money for a fellow worker in need. Last October, an email appeared on the computer screen of every Pulte Homes employee across the country. In it, were the words: "I have always believed that Faith and Family are more important than sign-ups and closings. If you do not have that type of balance in your life, then our company can never get your best efforts. I also believe that you are the heart and soul of Pulte Homes." Those were powerful yet humble words from Pulte's chief operating officer. My first thought was to send that email to my father because it summed up in just a few words why I have such a passion for this company. Pulte Homes was there as my children started kindergarten and it is there today as I send my youngest off to college, but it has not been sitting still. As a company, Pulte has leapt to its feet - becoming a multi-billion dollar corporation that never lost sight of its modest roots. Pulte Homes is a great place to work because it leads with integrity and knowledge, while encouraging the talent and creativity of every employee. As my father responded when he read the email: "Amen! It is easy to see why Pulte succeeds!"
