Name: Leigh Martin Title: Project Coordinator Location: Dallas, Texas Number of Years at Pulte Homes: 3 years Around twenty-six years ago, my grandfather began working with Pulte Homes as a contractor. Since that time, my family always had a working relationship with them. For me, the main reason Pulte Homes is a “Great Place to Work” is the loyalty and consideration Pulte has always shown to its employees and contractors. I have always been told that Pulte believed family and faith should come before work, and I am deeply impressed with the respect that Pulte Homes, as a corporation, continues to show for this view. During a time of family crisis two years ago, my manager and coworkers did their best to take care of everything at work so I could attend to my family. At my grandmother’s funeral, two Pulte employees attended out of respect for the long-term relationship we have had with Pulte Homes here in Dallas. Even during this time of great sorrow, I was intensely grateful for their presence and extremely proud to be an employee of such a company. Although every corporation must keep an eye on the bottom line, it is a relief to find a company that also tries to keep a watch on their employees’ morale. Given this consideration and the wonderful people I get to work with I truly believe that Pulte Homes is a “Great Place to Work” Name: Richard Dix Title: Division President Location: Dallas, Texas Number of Years at Pulte Homes: 1.5 years Shortly after joining Pulte Homes I was speaking with our CEO, Richard Dugas. In predictable form I was attempting to impress him with my strong work ethic, explaining how I was working 7 days a week so I could learn faster and ultimately become a better leader for the company. He quickly stopped me and shared with me a core belief of our company, passed to him by the company’s found, Bill Pulte. He explained that Pulte wants its employees to place their priorities in the following order: 1) your God, 2) your family, 3) Pulte. I should have been amazed to hear this from our CEO is casual conversation…a company that doesn’t request that you put it first? However, in reflection I realized that it is this core respect for the employees who work for Pulte that attracted me when I joined the company. This strong belief drives our world-class results and guides our culture. It comes across in the products we build and in the value we place on all customers. Today I am a better leader because of the balanced life that Pulte Homes encourages me to maintain.
