Pulte Homes cares for employees, partners and customers. It is because of its caring attitude that we are family. I would like to give you an example of honest and deep caring for our family members, which in this case were some of our homeowners. In July of 2001 their community was hit with 14 inches of rain in one night. The downpour flooded a City owned storm retention pond, which their homes backed up into. The water rose and the sanitary sewers backed up into 20 newly moved into homes with finished walk-out lower levels. By morning there was 3-4 feet of mud, water, and sewage on their carpet. They had no insurance for floods and the City took no responsibility since it was an act of God. Pulte Homes stepped in and said to our customers “you are family and family takes care of their own”. Home office said, “do the right thing” even though the tragedy was not caused by Pulte Homes “take care of your homeowners”. We did the right thing no matter what the cost. We did all the clean up and restoration at no cost to our customers. That is why I’m proud of Pulte Homes and one reason why it is a great place to work. Pulte Homes cares. It’s not just about business. It’s about people and caring for each other.
